Don Camillo

Don Camillo is a character created by Giovanni Guareschi in a series of books, and later radio shows and movies about a typical small town in Italy. Don Camillo is the priest in this village, and he butts heads over all kinds of issues with the Communist mayor, Peppone.

Filmed in Brescello, the five Don Camillo films provide a humorous insight into Italy after World War II.

In conjunction with the series of events celebrating Brescello and Reggio-Emilia, come watch the film Don Camillo film this Monday night at 7 PM. (You can see other Italian Movie Night listings here.) And if you miss it, remember that La Biblioteca has all five films, as well as many of the books.
