Thanks to one of our staff members we now have the popular HBO series Rome, the complete first season. This box set includes all 12 episodes, a bonus features DVD and a handy character guide booklet all stored away in a neat, wooden box.

For those who don’t know what Rome is about here is a short summary and a link to the IMDB page for more information.

This series is based around ancient Rome and the fall of the Roman republic to an autocratic empire. It is an account of the civil wars that ensued through the eyes of two soldiers. It chronicles the lives of the rich, like Julius Caesar (Ciarán Hinds) and the common soldiers such as the two main characters, Lucius Vorenus (Kevin McKidd) and Titus Pullo (Ray Stevenson).
